My Wyoming Wedding Expo, Cody, Wy

I always love driving down to Cody, the mountains are so beautiful and the light feels dramatic, eventually I would like to do a shoot down that long straight stretch of road.

I love the look of this stretch of mountains.

I love the look of this stretch of mountains.

Last weekend I attended my first bridal fair, My Wyoming Wedding Expo, in Cody, WY at Geysers on the Terrace. I had no idea what to expect going in, I just wanted to get to know a few vendors and talk to brides in the area. I brought some prints of favorite images from last summer, examples of what my wedding albums look like as well as photo displaying options and hoped for the best.

It was good to see this familiar face, Brent, DJ'd a wedding I was working back in December and I grabbed this moment in passing but never got to talk to him that evening. So I took the opportunity to get to know him a little better, I knew he was good at his job with how he kept everyone on the floor and was amused to find the story behind this moment. Allegedly a few gentlemen had quite insistently been requesting faster songs so that they could get the girls out on the dance floor, but after a few fast songs they were trying to catch their breath and asked Brent so slow it down a little. Laughingly, Brent told them to get back on the floor and dance with the girls! Made for a good moment and an excuse to get to know this guy a little more.

I also took a little time to shoot some of the decorations around the venue. The table set was an example of the fine work done by Geysers on The Terrace, the Lemon Mousse in the tiny martini glass was by RoadGrill Catering, and the lilies 'n lace from Lovell provided the wedding floral services.

Overall, it was an interesting experience and next time I attend a bridal fair I will be much more prepared for it. I love shooting weddings but selling myself is something entirely different and I'm still getting used to that idea.

~So here it is, I'm making myself blog, I've told myself I don't know how many times but I have to do it and now I'm going to do it, the theme of my life is SEO.~ Z
