Russell & Cody's Destination Wyoming Wedding.

This is heart mountain, a local landmark just north of Cody, Wyoming. I love the driving between Billings and Cody and make it a few times a year for weddings. Anywhere in the Rocky mountains is a beautiful setting for a wedding and I would love to come capture your memories!

DESTINATION Wedding at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming.

I have to start out by saying that I absolutely adore the privilege of being a part of a destination wedding. They typically consist of a smaller guest list, but that list is made of the most important people in the your life. They tend to be a little more strenuous to attend, especially when traveling to areas like Montana or Wyoming for the wedding. However, the people who make the trip are the ones you can call at 2am if you ever needed anything. These people that attend have come together for one reason and that reason is you. Bringing these people together creates a beautiful, inclusive and supportive community and I love getting to be a part of that.

Let’s take a look at some of the wedding photos from the weekend in Wyoming!

Groom’s WEdding Dinner at the irma hotel, Cody, Wy.

On Friday, after a quick run through at the Poker Church, we gathered for a wonderful evening filled with laughs, libations, and good eats at the Irma Hotel in downtown Cody. The Irma is an awesome historic location! It is filled with stories & some of us were able to convince an employee to give us a ghost tour of some of the more haunted areas in the hotel. The room with the most reported activity once belonged to Irma Hickok, the daughter of Wild Bill, who passed on in the room.

Having the rehearsal dinner covered during your wedding weekend allows for more moments to be captured and gives your guests a little time to adjust to having someone with a camera running around the room.

Wedding at the Poker Church in Cody, Wy.

The wedding was at the Poker Church just a few blocks from the Buffalo Bill Center. This was the first church built in the Cody area and is over a century old. Legend has it that funding for the church was won in a game of poker and donated to build the church, giving it its name!

The bride’s family is from Cody and her parents were married in the same church. She walked down the aisle to the same song played by the same organist as her mother.

After the wedding we took a few moments to enjoy the beautiful landscape of Wyoming.

Wyoming is BEAUTIFUL place for a wedding!

Wedding reception at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in the Draper Room.

After the wedding we headed into The Buffalo Bill Center of the West. This was my 3rd time working a wedding at the museum, each event has been beautiful and unique. They prepared a delicious meal of prime rib and after a few speeches from guests of honor, everyone hit the dance floor to shake a leg!

What a wonderful wedding weekend in Wyoming! I love the history and character of Cody and was happy to learn more about the area at this wedding.

I hope you enjoy what you’ve seen here and I look forward to seeing you in Cody, WY for another wedding!
