It’s been a few years since I’ve been back to Rockin’ TJ Ranch for a wedding. I used to shoot there much more often, covering special events and doing portraiture or food photography for the venue. Now that I’ve moved to Billings, I, unfortunately, don’t get to make my way back nearly often enough.
The property has undergone some serious facelifts since I was last on-site to photograph a wedding. The bridal prep area has been given a major overall. It is now made of 4 rooms and two of the rooms have large screened garage-style doors to allow for airflow and let in all the beautiful natural light for hair/ makeup.
I could hear the girls laughing from the parking lot as I got out of my car and I knew it was going to be a fantastic day!
My suspicions were confirmed as soon as I entered the salon! The girls were buzzing all over finishing up hair and makeup and preparing details for the day. The air was constantly filled with laughter! After photographing the details and providing some coverage of the ladies getting ready I headed over to the tent on the opposite side of the property where the guys were getting ready and having a little lunch.
Once Maria and Zachary were picture-perfect, we set out for the first look!
I always encourage my clients to at least consider doing a first look. It can help simplify your wedding day timeline and settle any butterflies you might be experiencing. After you see each other, your nerves will instantly be greatly reduced or even disappear. I promise you that the walk down the aisle will still be an emotionally surreal experience. A first look also allows us to record your family formals before the ceremony so as soon as you are married you can go entertain your guests and not have to worry about setting aside more time for group shots.
The ceremony took place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a beautiful, historic sanctuary in downtown Bozeman. After the ceremony, the party did a little bar hopping to some favorite watering holes before jumping back on the party bus and returning to Rockin’ TJ ranch for dinner and dancing.
After dinner and speeches, a favorite family tradition took place, a slideshow detailing the lives of Maria and Zach that lead up to the wedding day! There was so much laughter and a few tears during the viewing.
Then the party started!! The rest of the evening was filled with laughter, dancing, libations, and creating more memories.
